As of January 9th 2018, Microsoft ended its Mainstream Support for Dynamics NAV 2013 and Dynamics NAV 2013 R2. What this meant for customers using NAV 2013 was that the security updates and bug fixes were no longer issued for the product and support cases were no longer accepted, with Microsoft advising customers to upgrade to a newer version.
What is the latest situation?
Fast forward this on 9 months and we still continue to provide day-to-day end-user support and troubleshooting for NAV 2013 as part of our Dynamics NAV support offering. However, since the retirement of NAV 2013 we aren’t able to escalate cases around this version to Microsoft, so this could hinder the level of support that you currently receiving now and in the future if you don’t upgrade.
What do we recommend?
We would strongly encourage our customers still running the 2013 versions of NAV to consider upgrading to a newer version of Dynamics NAV at the earliest possible opportunity, to ensure that we can continue to fully support your business going forward.
Can you still benefit after a NAV upgrade?
Yes, as well as benefiting from newer features as part of the upgrade, you are still able to access certain benefits (and would still do so even after you have upgraded your NAV system) through Microsoft CustomerSource including:
- Previously released Upgrades, Updates, Service Packs, Fixes and Regulatory/Tax Updates
- Self-Help Support through Knowledge Base articles and online content
- Unlimited Online Training
