How can Microsoft 365 Copilot help transform the way you work in your business

If you didn’t know this already, Microsoft 365 Copilot is fully integrated to work with the apps that you use on a daily basis, enabling you to concentrate your efforts on more important tasks. This is where Microsoft 365 Copilot comes in to work with you to unleash creativity, unlock productivity and up your skillsets.

In our latest blog article, we will take you through specifically how Microsoft 365 Copilot can help you by showcasing what it can do across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

Copilot in Microsoft Word

You will find that Copilot in Word writes, edits, summarises and builds right next to you. Giving it only a little prompt, Copilot in Word will build you a first draft which takes information from all over your business where required. Better still, Copilot can also add content to existing documents, provide summaries of text and redraft sections or a whole document to make it more streamlined if needed. Taking this one step further, you are also able to get suggested tones to use across the documents to help you appeal in the right way. Copilot is also able to take your writing to the next level by giving you suggestions that could improve arguments and remove any problematic wording.

To put this into context, here are a few prompts you could use:

  • Create a five-page project proposal based on a document and spreadsheet.
  • Improve the second paragraph in this document.
  • Draft a two-pager based on this rough outline.

Copilot in Microsoft Excel

You will find that Copilot in Excel works with you to enable you to both analyse as well as explore your business data. Be sure to ask Copilot questions around your data in a normal language rather than just relying on formulas. It has the power to provide you with correlations, propose what-if scenarios and provide ideas for new formulas around your specific questions – creating models around your questions that can enable you to delve deeper into data without changing it. Easily find patterns, showcase powerful visualisations or even request recommendations to give you certain outcomes.

To put this into context, here are a few prompts you could use:

  • Show me a sales breakdown by type and channel. Put this into a table.
  • Predict the impact of this change and show me a chart to help visualise this.

Copilot in Microsoft PowerPoint

You will find that Copilot in Microsoft PowerPoint enables you to formulate your ideas into fantastic presentations.  As part of this storytelling approach, Copilot can help to convert written documents into presentation decks fully equipped with notes and sources. Reduce long presentations with just a click of a button and use normal language commands to make changes to layouts, reformat text as well as adding time animations.

To put this into context, here are a few prompts you could use:

  • Put together a ten-slide presentation using information from this Word document and add relevant stock images where necessary.
  • Shorten this presentation into just two slides.

Copilot in Microsoft Outlook

You will find that Copilot in Microsoft Outlook collaborates with you as well as your inbox and messages so that you are able to reduce the time spent on emails and allocate more time on communicating much faster. Condense long and unorganised email threads with multiple people to interpret what has been said as well as the different views being given and the open questions that have yet to be answered. Reply to an email through the use of a basic prompt or convert notes into a professionally worded message – extracting content from previous emails or content from Microsoft 365. Make use of toggles to make changes to both the tone and length of your note.

To put this into context, here are a few prompts you could use:

  • Summarise the emails that I received whilst I was out of the office last Monday. Flag anything that is urgent.
  • Create a response thanking them and asking for more details about the earlier points made.

Copilot in Microsoft Teams

You will find that Copilot in Microsoft Teams makes it easier to work with others. Copilot allows you to run more productive meetings, keep updated on the latest information, outline key discussion points and easily summarise key actions so that everyone knows what needs to be done next. Within your chat box, Copilot provides you with clear answers to certain questions or gives you all the information that you have missed without stopping the discussion in mid flow. By making use of Copilot for your meetings and conversations, you can also use this tool to assist you in creating meeting agendas based on chat history, selecting the right people to follow up with and scheduling the next meeting.

To put this into context, here are a few prompts you could use:

  • Provide me with a summary of the previous meeting. What points have been mentioned so far?
  • What decisions were made and what are the next actions?
