With MTD compliance being one of the buzzwords on every small businesses’ lips since its introduction in April, in the last few days a significant bug within Microsoft’s latest hotfix, which was released in September 2019, has been discovered which has impacted on the MTD functionality within the solution.
So just what is this Dynamics GP 2018 VAT Reporting Bug?
The Dynamics GP 2018 VAT Reporting Bug relates to Microsoft’s hot fix released in September 2019, which has a bug that affects the VAT / Making Tax Digital functionality so much that the VAT daybook report is unusable for MTD purposes.
Am I affected and how can I resolve this?
If you are using Dynamics GP versions 2018 or 2018 R2 & if you have installed Microsoft’s September hot fix then yes you are affected. There is no need to panic though, as this issue has been reported to Microsoft who will be looking to resolve this in its November hotfix release.
If you are using either of the above GP solutions, the advice is do not install the September 2019 hot fix if you need this VAT daybook functionality, you should stick with the April 2019 hotfix release.
However, if you have installed September’s hot fix and your GP solution is supported by Advantage, we would recommend that you contact your designated GP account manager who will be able to get this resolved for you.
For those that don’t currently have GP support with Advantage and are unsure as to how to proceed with this issue within Dynamics GP or require some urgent GP support or need help with becoming MTD compliant, we strongly recommend that you talk to one of our GP experts today.
