What does it mean to be a Microsoft Solutions Partner?

If you didn’t already know Microsoft made significant changes to Silver and Gold partner qualifications and replaced them with Microsoft Solutions Partner accreditations. Given the fact that as a partner, we’re now well on our way to achieving the Solutions Partner status for Business Applications, we wanted to make sure that you fully understood what accreditation is and what it means for customers like yourselves.

Let’s start by explaining what being a Microsoft Solutions Partner means

Put simply, the Microsoft Solutions Partner accreditation showcases how committed we are to providing the best overall service to our customers, the skillset we have in our team and our knowledge & experience of delivering successful projects all over the Microsoft ecosystem.

In order to meet this requirement, partners all over the Microsoft ecosystem must showcase a high level of competence in a certain area (such as Business Applications) and are analysed against different categories such as performance, skilling and customer success.

What this all means in plain English is the fact that it offers some form of credibility and expertise so that both Microsoft as well as prospects can be satisfied in the partner they are working with.

Ok, that’s great, so what are the Solution Partner designation areas?

In addition to the above, there are also six clearly defined designations that illustrate certain areas of expertise:

  • Data & AI
  • Infrastructure
  • Digital & App Innovation
  • Business Applications
  • Modern Work
  • Security

So, what does this all mean for you, the customers?

At Advantage, we have a firm understanding of exactly why Microsoft have changed the way things have worked previously in replacing Silver/Gold partner with Solutions Designation and there are some key things that we wish you to consider:

  • Focus on key offerings: The new accreditation in place gives more of a focus on Microsoft’s core offerings, allowing it to become much easier for users to select companies who have expertise in certain areas.
  • Reassurance over capability: It helps to instill confidence in customers that they are working with partners that have the necessary skills and expertise to meet their specific needs and provide them with suitable outcomes.
  • Leading standards: These accreditations are much harder to attain compared with the previous Silver and Gold accreditations, helping to guarantee that only partners who are providing top-quality services can achieve this.
