Microsoft has recently published its latest lifecycle (roadmap) for the latest version of Dynamics GP which takes it well into 2028.
This demonstrates Microsoft’s commitment to the Dynamics GP product and plots the future direction enabling our customers to accelerate their decision to upgrade to the latest version of Dynamics GP. Furthermore, the latest publication shows dates that go well into the future which indicates a longer confirmed date for Modern Lifecycles verses the Fixed Lifecycle versions.
So what does this mean for my business and what action can I take?
Microsoft Dynamics GP version users
If you are on the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics GP, it means that you can be safe in the knowledge that Microsoft will be providing at least 3 updates over the course of the year (June, October, December) until at least 2028.
Dynamics GP 2018 and 2018 R2 version users
If you are on either of the above versions, you will still be able to receive mainstream support until January 10th 2023 with extended support ending on January 11th 2028 which is great news. Better still, if you have installed any compatible Dynamics GP tax release or hotfix on Dynamics GP 2018 or 2018 R2 will bring you to version 18.2 or later which means you will fall under the modern lifecycle to 2028.
Dynamics GP 2016 and 2016 R2 version users
If you are using either of the above versions, you haven’t got long before your mainstream support ends (July 13th) with your extended support due to expire on July 14th 2026. Therefore, we would recommend that you consider upgrading to the latest version of Dynamics GP or perhaps consider making the move to Business Central.

Dynamics GP 2015 and GP 2015 R2 version users
If you are using either of the above versions ,you will find that your mainstream support ended back in April 2020 with extended support due to end on April 8th 2025. Therefore, we would recommend that you upgrade your GP version to the latest version or move to Business Central as the longer you stay on it the more exposed you could be to hacking.

Dynamics GP 2013 and GP 2013 R2 version users
If you are using either of the above versions, you will find that your mainstream support ended back in April 2018 with extended support due to end on April 11th 2023. Therefore, with no updates at all from Microsoft for this version to help protect your system from being compromised, we would strongly recommend that you upgrade your GP version immediately or better still make the move to Business Central.
