After this been installed, you will find that users can now access the Business Central features easily through the Microsoft Outlook ribbon at the top.
So, how is this new add-in a gamechanger for my business?
Easily manage customer information
With this new feature, you will find that you can create contracts and manage them after the first email has been received from the customer. Furthermore, this allows users to access the information needed about their customers from just one place. Moreover, users are then able to create new contacts and modify existing ones. Better this, all this new contact information that is added is then synced back to Business Central.
Build documentation
Through this new add-in, users are then able to produce the following documents from within Outlook:
Sales Quotes, Invoices, Orders & Credit Memos
Purchase Invoices, Credit Memos & Orders.
Producing invoices from meeting appointments
In some cases, businesses choose to record billable appointments through the Outlook calendar. Better still through this new add-in you can produce invoices for customers from the calendar item.
The process is still the same as it would be within an email, the user simply opens the appointment record and the Business Central add-in will pull in the customer contact and record. From this, the user will be able to find all the existing information, produce an invoice or some other form of sales documentation all within Outlook itself. Furthermore, if you find that the attendee from the meeting is a new contact or customer, users will be able to link them up with an existing customer or add a new customer record that will sync with Business Central via Outlook.
Fast & effective document lookup
Another fantastic benefit of this add-in is that it allows the user to be able to find documents that have been in previous email messages. This means that it can come into play for an email message if a document number is recognised in the body of a message. This means that the users will be able to access Business Central documents and make changes or modifications without moving away from Outlook. Other things that can be completed within Outlook come to the include the following: sending for approval, posting, printing & emailing comments.
