Read about our successful Dynamics NAV Business Briefing

LONDON, 18th May 2017: We’re pleased to report that our very first Dynamics NAV business briefing for Microsoft Dynamics NAV customers and users was a great success! Following on from the fantastic work our GP team have been doing for the last couple of years, we decided it was time we gave our NAV customers a bit of love!

The event celebrated everything associated with NAV, including sessions on NAV 2017, Dynamics 365 and superb presentations from our partners at JetReports and Equisys. We even had chance to hear from Allan Pisador, one of our clients at RCL Lighting.

Over 30 people attended, including NAV customers, business partners and NAV users.

Here’s a quick overview of the day:

Dynamics NAV roadmap and introducing Dynamics 365

Our very own Veronika Klimesova and Martyn Kemp took the audience though the latest details of the Dynamics NAV roadmap. Utilising insider knowledge gleaned directly from Microsoft, they explained that Dynamics NAV is set to continue development well past 2019.

In the same session, Veronika and Martyn also introduced Dynamics 365 for the assembled audience. As we’ve talked about in some of our previous blogs, Dynamics 365 is the brand new SaaS; ERP and CRM hybrid that Microsoft are throwing their collective might behind. It has some truly impressive features and you should definitely read about them here.

Integration options

Justin Bown and Dave Whitham next took to the stage for a presentation to elaborate further about Dynamics 365. Justin heads up our CRM team, so he focussed on the sales, marketing and service aspects of Dynamics 365. He also offered unique insight on how it’s possible to integrate two distinct systems to centralise all your businesses data.

A customer’s perspective

Next up, we heard from Allan Pisador of Remote Control Lighting LTD. We recently worked with Allan and his organisation to implement an installation of NAV and integrate NAV with Salesforce. Allan talked about all the pain points, pressures and difficulties getting it all to work together. But ultimately he was delighted Advantage managed to come through for him and RCL lighting!

Putting NAV in the cloud

Christo van Zyl put in an entertaining appearance with his presentation on why sticking NAV in the cloud is the way forward for businesses. He stated lower cost, instantaneous provisioning and the ability to work anywhere, anytime and anyplace as his top reasons for adopting the cloud. He also demonstrated a love of geeky cartoon strips!

A word from our partners

We delivered this Business Briefing in collaboration with Claire Irving from Equisys and Paul Hollcraft from JetReports and they were both fantastic. Claire delivered some fantastic slides on how to bring your office into the 21st century and make it completely paperless. Sounds amazing right? Check out the Equisys site for more details! And Paul is one of our favourite people to work with. He delivered an excellent demo on how JetReports builds on PowerBI.

And now…the prize draw!

Allan Bargery of Ivory and Ledoux won the laptop in our prize draw! He was absolutely delighted as he scooped the laptop out of Karen’s hands! We hope you enjoy the laptop Allan.

The marketing team are just processing some of the feedback forms and it’s great to read you had so many nice things to say about the event. Our NAV team will definitely be running events again, so please keep your eyes on our events page for future activities.
