If you didn't know this already, Microsoft has recently revealed what new elements will be heading to Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform as part of their latest Wave 1 2024 update heading to customers this April.
In this blog article, we will highlight some of the new elements coming to Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform this April.
Dynamics 365
Dynamics 365 Customer Service
Get automatic prompts from Copilot
You will find that Copilot in Dynamics 365 Customer Service can assist customer service teams in different ways. It might not always be clear to customer service teams what Copilot might be able to do for them next. Therefore, the use of automatic prompts can put into context suggestions to agents on what they should do next. The whole purpose of this is to make it much more straight forward for customer service agents to give fast responses to questions and get help where needed.
Validate Copilot responses faster with greater transparency
You will notice that Copilot in Dynamics 365 Customer Service has been upgraded to give greater transparency when it comes to responses, including better citations of its sources. With better transparency given, customer service teams can quickly understand how Copilot created its responses and validated its accuracy, dramatically reducing the time required to verify replies. This means representatives can reduce handling times and improve customer satisfaction.
Dynamics 365 Field Service
Field Service Mobile Copilot
You will find that this new feature will make it easier for technicians to use Teams on mobile devices to ask questions and get accurate answers via Copilot about their work orders, bookings, assets and other Field Service-related data.
Dynamics 365 Sales
Use Copilot to get answers from your sales documents
You will find that as an admin, you are able to configure the sources that you want Copilot to use for fetching and summarising the sales information. From the seller's point of view, you can access the relevant sales information from SharePoint via the Copilot chat interface in Dynamics 365 Sales.
Elevate your sales pitch using Copilot email assistance
You will find that Copilot allows you to reduce the time you spend on drafting emails. Through the use of this feature, you can do the following:
Dynamics 365 Customer Insights
Create real-time, personalised experiences based upon customer touchpoints
You are now able to track and leverage your customer’s online behaviour to drive personalised experiences across your digital channels. This new feature allows you to do the following:
Microsoft Power Platform
Power Automate
Be more productive with Power Automate and Excel desktop
You will find that this new feature allows you to access prebuilt templates and enables users to create workflows quickly and easily using a native automation capability in Excel desktop on Windows and Mac.
View a Power Automate visual in a Power BI report
This new feature gives you the ability to translate insights into action. You can use a Power Automate visual so you can run an automated flow from a Power BI report.
To illustrate this, when you build a Power Automate visual in a Power BI report, your users can run an automated flow just by hitting a button in your report. You will find that this flow can be data contextual, meaning that the flow inputs can be dynamic, based on the filters the users set.
Power Pages
Create virtual tables to use external data sources
You will find that this feature enables you to sync with your Power Pages site to external data sources such as SQL Server and Microsoft SharePoint via the data workspace in Power Pages studio.
Power Apps
Use copilot easily in canvas apps
You will find that this feature is enabled once Copilot is turned on in canvas apps that connect to Microsoft Dataverse data. You won’t need any special configuration to use copilot so it’s available when users ask questions to allow them to have a greater understanding of their data.
Make use of generative AI testing for canvas apps
Granted application testing, especially when customers look to deploy flagship applications, has been a challenge. So, how does a customer know when an application is deployed more broadly and that it will work on a scale? You will find that this feature automates the creation of automated tests for canvas apps.
