In the last few days, Microsoft has revealed that it will be adding to its ever-growing set of AI tools by expanding the feature set to include some cutting-edge capabilities to be released later in the year. Whilst the expansion of the AI capabilities across its products is fantastic news, the biggest revelation to come from Microsoft is the fact that two brand new Dynamics 365 apps will be added to its current Dynamics 365 stack of products. These will be named Dynamics 365 Finance Insights & Dynamics 365 Project Operations.
So what is the Dynamics 365 Finance Insights app?
The Dynamics 365 Finance Insights app will available in preview mode from May this year & will essentially bring the AI capabilities to the finance team in your business. Through the use of the AI capability will allow you to gain a better understanding and visibility of your business finances and be able to take action on your company’s cash position with positive steps to improve it. Furthermore, it will also help to automate your menial day to day processes which will free up your time to analyse insights to help carry your business forwards.
So what is the Dynamics 365 Project Operations app?
The Dynamics 365 Project Operations app which will be replacing the existing Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation app will be readily available from October 1st this year. Essentially this new app will look to create better connections between project teams across different functions by combining the best parts of Microsoft Project & Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation. Furthermore, this application will also provide a greater visibility, increase collaborations and the insights required to deliver successful projects.
Already use Dynamics 365 for Project Service Automation and worried about how this will impact on you? No need to panic as Microsoft has you covered as it will give you up to four years to make the move to Project Operations.
What else did Microsoft disclose?
Microsoft revealed that it will make a number of changes to some of the parts that already exist in Dynamics 365 apps. In Dynamics 365 Customer Insights you are now able to enrich customer profiles through building connections with first and third-party data sources which will help to ensure that these profiles can be updated and activated in real-time. In addition to this, Microsoft announced as part of its Wave 1 release that it will be expanding the availability of Customer Insights to government cloud computing (GCC) environments which will help to improve the citizen experiences essential to modern government.
Also announced is the fact that Dynamics 365 for Sales and Dynamics 365 Sales Insights will now have available new manual and predictive forecasting capabilities which will make it easier for sales organisations to get a better grasp of the pipeline, make more accurate predictions & have a better overview of future performance. You will find that Dynamics 365 will build forecasts that make use of the data in your CRM, current and historical leads, won or lost opportunities, contacts, accounts and much more which will then be used to accurately predict future performance. The great thing about this feature is the fact that is presented in such a way that you don’t need to be a scientist to understand or use it!
