Recently Microsoft have announced that they will cease to offer Microsoft Social Engagement as part of any license entitlement for new Microsoft Dynamics 365 customers.
Microsoft have continued their investment in AI with their recent public preview of Dynamics 365 for Market Insights which leverages AI – powered insights via social and web interactions. This is managed through a single solution which has resulted in Microsoft Social Engagement being discontinued with immediate effect.
What about existing Microsoft Social Engagement users?
Existing Dynamics 365 customers with access to Social Engagement can continue using the service until 16th January 2020 with monthly quota add-ons continuing to be available for customers to purchase until then. Beyond this date the service will cease for all users.
Prior to this date Microsoft Social Engagement users are encouraged to try the public preview of Dynamics 365 for Market Insights here, with licensing details and pricing available closer to its general release in April 2019 (subject to change).
When digging into Market Insights, users of Microsoft Social Engagement should be able to see the data and configurations from their account. This new app will allow users to gain social and web insights by being able to monitor external information sources, social media and any trending Bing search insights. There will also have the capability to report sentiment and intent analysis from social posts to replicate the existing Microsoft Social Engagement functionality.
Market Insights compared to Microsoft Social Engagement
With the public preview release Market Insights contains the functionality of Microsoft Social Engagement within the same UI and the new Bing search insights mentioned above. The Social Selling Assistant isn’t shown as Market Insights function currently, however further functionality and interfaces are expected prior to its general available in April 2019.
